Antique Tarifa stone flooring, XVIII–XIX centuries
Antique reclaimed floors
Its history dates back to the construction of the Roman city of Baelo Claudia. This curious sandstone limestone (calcarenite), has been used from then in western Andalusia. Especially from XVI century, when it gained great prestige and popularity, rivalling marble, as is evidenced by part of the paving of the Seville Cathedral and many other historical buildings in Cádiz and Seville.
Today, it is a real diamond in the world of ancient pavings. As beautiful as hard to find, its patina and personality are unrivaled.
